I was planning on holding off on this layout for a little longer but last night after I got home from work (midnight), I couldn’t sleep so I decided to get it up and running. I brought back adding images to it rather than the plain colors that I have been lately. I wanted it to be black and white and have the text and headers (the focus of a website) to be the part bringing the colors in. I really like it and hope you do as well.
Since the image is a set width, this layout isn’t fluid like the last. I know it could be considered a step backwards but I’m trying to get back into my old style while merging it with my new as well. So a little comprimise had to be made.
I’m debating on whether or not to add a background. It would make it less dull for those with wider screens but it might ruin some of the simplicity. Whadya think?
I added a notice on the bottom of the header image. For most people, it’ll say that you’re not logged in since logging in isn’t public yet but for testers, it should say “Hello, Your Name” (for example, for me it says “Hello, Skye!” This is all good and dandy but I’m getting an error on the artist pages (see mine, for example) saying that I can’t start the session because headers are already sent. Basically, that means that some form of content was sent before the session start function. But I meticulously checked the coding last night and nothing is sent beforehand. Does anybody have any ideas? It only happens on the artist profiles, not even on other pages with virtually the same code (hostee site profiles, etc.). Please help! I changed it to @session_start and it went away… dunno why but as long as it works! I also changed the welcome to say “Hello, Visitor!” if you are not logged in, instead of informing you that you’re not logged in. You still deserve to be greeted!

Ohhh, a new layout! So you decided to use this one here? It’s beautiful, like I already said. So simple and elegant, and I love the color scheme

If I am asked to describe the colors used for this layout, I would say, it is “Funky Fresh!” I love the focus of the black and white picture, with the color scheme of the neon scale. I commend you for your bold step forward in using these colors. Like what Jelena mentioned in her comment, it’s simple yet very elegant!

I’m glad that you decided to bring back the images. Love the simplicity and colour choices. But the height-to-width ratio of the banner bothers to me a little. I think it’ll serve its purpose without being obnoxious if you chopped off 50 pixels; though I would like to see the girl’s whole face so perhaps shrinking is more of the word I’m looking for.
BTW, you can achieve fluidity with this design if you make a seamless background for the banner so that it’ll extend on the left.

I love the colors, I love the header, I love it! It’s stunning! It makes my eyes sparkle.. *__*
I feel really happy looking at this layout.
I also like the logging in thing. It makes this site really exclusive.

I love the new layout! I love the colors and everything. I love the way you choose your colors. They’re bright and vibrant and full of life. I’m loving the soft feel of this layout. Great job!

Haha, you know… you make me have an identity crisis ’cause I have no idea what to call myself (because I have no idea what you know me as… bleh… I have too many names.)
The layout is beautiful =) It’s a very unique color scheme, but you made it work wonderfully.

Awesome new layout, skye! :’D it’s simple yet elegant, i love the colour scheme :3 but maybe the green titles are kinda hard to read, imo :] still, your layout looks cool 8D
