February 5th, 2007 : Daoine Affiliation OPEN
Category: Site |
I’ve decided to open my affiliation again because I lost a few for various reasons. Apply by filling out the generic contact form because there really isn’t a need for a separate one. In the comments just let me know a little about your site, what your plans are for it, and why you want to affiliate with SF.
What I’m looking for:
- Friendship - I like to be friends in some way, shape, or form. We don’t have to talk constantly and I’m willing/able to talk in both IM and email. I try to keep a balance of friendship and business. At least some sort of acknowledgement every once in a while is fine in most cases.
- Creativity - What I look for the most is creativity. Have a style of your own. Express yourself. Your site needs to relate to art in some way but, to me, that is a very broad term. Portfolio, creative arts, web design, etc. are all fine as long as it is done in an artistic manner. No personal/blog sites.
- Have at least some sense for presentation. Setup, coding, aesthetics.
- Update - This is a very subjective thing for me. You don’t have to update every day, every week, or even every month. But I want to know that you are alive and still interested in your site. If it’s been a few months of no updates and no contact, I start to wonder. On the same token, try to have some sort of progression of growth. Basically, keep an interest in your site.
- Also, on a sidenote, I know I have been attacked in the past for my views on affiliation. I do try to keep my expectations high while being reasonable. The sites I have as my daoine are ones that I feel are the best. I like a lot of sites but I can’t put all of them there, so I keep my expectations high in order to keep the number reasonable. Quality over quantity. I probably do take it too seriously but it isn’t going to change. Also, despite what has been said about me, I think everything through before acting. I debate a while before adding someone and I debate even longer before dropping someone. In most cases, I usually don’t drop unless there is more than one reason why and I usually think about it for at least a month before deciding. So it isn’t a drop-on-impulse thing. Sometimes people change, views change, and priorities change; change is how things progress but sometimes it also causes people to go in different directions.
I don’t expect you to feel the same, but I’d like you to know how I feel about it.
- So, to sum it up, don’t be afraid to apply because of what you’ve heard if you really do want to apply. I consider every application. Even if you’re a beginner and want to apply, do so; remember: I’m looking for creativity, not popularity.
- I’d also like to say that I have no definite amount of spots open and there is no specific timeline. My goal is to accept one or two sites but I’m not going to add people just to add people. It will be open as long or as little as need be.
Apply?

I’m like a bug, you can’t just get rid of me that easily! Hey Skye, it has been a long time. I apologize for being gone for so long. But, I hope I get to talk to you soon! I still admire you on how you pick your daoine. I can’t wait to see who you’ll choose. Wishing you the best. *huuuugs*

I wish you the best of luck finding daoine. There are many talented people on the web, and I’m sure you’ll find people who are friendly and have quality sites.

Heya Skye! Sorry I haven’t been actively responding back here. Especially when you told me to give imput on that feedback update. I’ve been a bit busy with a couple of things. Anyway, good luck with the daoine!

Yeah, I noticed that your daoine list was getting changed up for the past few months . Contrary to adding you online, I had a similiar impression about you that you described yourself as (in the update) but you’re a very sweet, and kind person Skye , but to sugarcoat it all up you’re awesome! Hopefully you can get some sites that’ll stay on that list for a while and become good friends with. Best of luck to those who apply!

Hi Skye! I read your P.Nu blog and I suggest LiveJournal.com. Great service, communities, writers, EVERYTHING!
I’m sure someone will apply for affiliation. Good luck finding your Daoine!

True, it’s hardly a “drop-on–impulse” thing with you, I probably have the same views on affiliation as you do. Good luck with picking out a Daoine!

Wow I really love your layout-especially the earthy colors. ^_^ And by the way is that avatar picture you always have by your updates of you when you were young or is just a picture you found?

I’ve got to go so I’m just gonna answer the questions asked.
Brandika: I’m not fond of Livejournal and ones like that and I’m not sure why exactly. I posted all of my plans at Rewyn, though.
Caitlin: It is a picture of me. In the layout the main girl is me and the one in the circle is my boyfriend’s niece.
